We were back on Fremont Peak again this year. We operated 3A this year because we had only 2 HF stations going. That turned out to be plenty, however, since we had fewer participants. The main group attending this year was: Thom (KD6CJX), Don(KA6AUR), Lou (WU6Y), Erwin (WB6SZW) and Frank (N7FF).
Our visiting operators were Eric (K6VVA), Samantha(KG6SKM), Terry (N6NRQ),Pat (KG6RLR) and Kris (KG6YPB). I am happy to report that each visiting operator made at least one contact for the log book. It was fun to see new folks at the mic.
This year we used 2 wire antennas. WU6Y put up a ladder line fed 40 meter dipole which worked well for the main 40 meter station. N7FF put up his usual 135 ft wide ladder line fed doublet and used this on 80, 40 and 20 meters. The HF stations stayed off 15 and 10 meters because of bad propagation. The 6 meter station was the usual 5 element yagi on a push up mast. Don reported a couple of openings to the Northwest late in the contest. Our 2 meter antenna was the 2 12 element yagis fed in phase. We contacted 30 stations on 6 meters and 6 stations on 2 meters this time. We had over 500 contacts on the combined HF stations. This was much less than we did last year but we didn't expect to do that well with much less participation and a more relaxed approach this year. Once again Thom (KD6CJX) did a fantastic job with the grill and coffee pot. Hmmm Hmmmm good.

This year's Field Day was held on private property owned by Larry AA6MV and Marti N6ULI. What gracious hosts they were. We owe a great deal to Larry and Marti's neighbor, Libby Sofer, and to Eric Hilding K6VVA, for finding this site.
This year we had more participation, more antennas and many more QSOs despite the declining band conditions. Eric, K6VVA, racked up the most points and is now putting together the club's final score.

Besides these two antennas in the gallery we had Eric's Carolina Windom that worked well on
80 meters, the club's tri-band beam on its new Force-12 mast and Randy Fox
W6JZE's R7 vertical.
Unfortunately not shown are the 5 hams who operated for the first time or reacquainted themselves with the hobby after being away for many years. The list of operators this year included: K6VVA, AA6MV, AD6ID, K6WWS, KD6CGK, KD6OPI, KG6TGA, N7FF, WU6Y, KI7TEN, KG6HUM, KA6AUR, KG6FZL and last, but not least, Libby Sofer.
